Manager, Strategic Projects

Champlain Insurance Group is a fast-growing, specialty, surplus and excess lines insurance enterprise. Which, through our affiliates, Champlain Specialty Insurance Company, WestCongress Insurance Services LLC, and WestCongress Risk Services LLC, offers primary and excess general liability insurance solutions and claims administration throughout the United States.


We are in need of a Manager of Strategic Projects for our Manchester, NH office to plan and direct strategic operational priorities for the organization. This will be a highly visible role reporting to the Director of Strategic Operations and working directly with the organization’s President/COO and other senior leadership team members. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing key initiatives such as management of business development pipeline, facilitation of annual credit rating process, coordination of capital transactions, and other strategic priorities.


The successful candidate will possess exceptional organization and strategic planning capabilities with a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude and ability to partner effectively to get things done.
In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Coordinate and manage the organization’s project portfolio, prioritizing projects based on strategic value and resource availability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives, fostering collaboration and ensuring accountability.
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with leaders and employees at all levels
  • Monitor and report on the progress of strategic initiatives and KPIs, providing regular updates to the executive team and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities for growth or improvement.
  • Develop and implement project management frameworks and methodologies to improve project delivery and outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between the executive office and other departments, ensuring alignment and coordination of efforts.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions, contributing insights and expertise to shape the organization’s future direction.
  • Oversee special projects as assigned by the President/COO, ensuring high-quality execution and delivery.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and projects, making recommendations for adjustments or enhancements.
  • Represent the executive office in internal and external meetings, presenting the organization’s strategies and initiatives professionally.

Experience and Education:

  • 5-8 years relevant experience in fast-paced, complex organization
  • 4 year / bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in insurance industry a plus but not required
